I walked out of the gym this morning to this beautiful sky. 

And, it rained an hour later....for 5 minutes :)

Tonight I stopped by the South Moutain Trailhead on 19th Avenue. 

It was quite peaceful as I was the only one on the trail

 (strong enough to tolerated the 111 degree heat).  

There are amazing views of the entire Phoenix Valley along the entire trail. 

Day 2

I spent the entire day in Wickenburg, Arizona on a site visit. 

We walked miles of washes( in the Arizona sunshine and heat) to determine the wash characteristics such as sandy bottom, overbank full of trees and shrubs, etc.

Along the way we came across several horses.

"Kitty Loves Her Mommy"

I got Kitty about 9 years ago and she is definately a "Momma's girl." 

We never thought she would be a lap cat,

but when I am home she's either on my lap or sitting above my head on the chair. 

She ALWAYS greets me in the morning.

Project 365

I've decided to take the plunge and do a 365 day *take a picture a day* journey and post the pictures on this blog. I'm an average, point-n-shoot, auto-setting, photographer! Throughout this journey, I am going to become one with the camera and explore all the settings. I will be using a Cannon Rebel XSI SLR. I imagine I will post some really great pictures, some not so great, and some that will make you say "what was she thinking." Please share your comments and words of encouragement throughout this journey!


A friend and I did a "spit handshake" (ok, we really didnt do a spit handshake, but you get the point) to go on this journey together and came up with the following rules to keep us both motivated and honest!

*A picture must be taken daily.
*Pictures will be posted either everyday or by Midnight on Sunday.
*If posts are not made by the end of the week the defaulting party will buy the others lunch one day the following week. For everyday beyond that, the defaulting party will bring in coffee to make up for those days.
*Vacations/Holidays: Pictures will be taken daily and posted within one week upon return.
